I thought I'd share some snapshots of what it feels like to be a gamer in your thirties...
You know you're a middle-aged gamer when:
- You're delighted to finish a game within 3 years of it's release.
- You're delighted to purchase a game within 3 years of it's release
- You remember when 'Console Wars' meant Amiga vs Atari ST.
- You recall the day you were stopped in your tracks by the sight of Wolfenstein 3D running in a shop window.
- You remember when 'co-op gameplay' meant I'll fly and you push fire.
- Nowadays your longest gaming sessions are vehicle-hopping in GTA:SA with a car-mad two year old on your lap, hoping CJ doesn't fall off a ledge and yell 'Shiiiiiit!'
- You scratch your gaming itch with a little Tower Blox on your cellphone in the toilets at work.
- You honestly cannot justify, even to yourself, upgrading to a 360. (Although Red Dead Redemption is seriously testing your resolve)
and finally...
- You don't keep up with the latest games by playing them, you listen to a bunch of Aussie dicks talk about them!
Sad, huh?
